🌞 Resonances: A Summer Solstice Art & Spirit Residency in Molise
5 Days of Painting, Presence, and Inner Illumination
Bagnoli del Trigno, Molise — 18–22 June 2026
In the high golden hours of the summer solstice, in a place where light and shadow meet in soft collusion on ancient stone, you are invited into an artist’s pilgrimage — a residency that is as much about being as about making.
Here, in the storied hillside village of Bagnoli del Trigno, the “pearl of Molise” — a timeless Italian borgo perched above the gentle curves of the Trigno valley with winding alleys, medieval churches, and dramatic natural views — time stretches and breathes in harmony with the land.
This is a 5-day immersion into nature, creativity, and inner stillness, guided by vibrant dialogue, reflective meditation, joyful community, and the soulful act of painting.
With Francesco Polazzi — Art, Philosophy, and the Poetics of Place
At the heart of this residency is Francesco Polazzi, an artist whose practice intertwines philosophy and paint, pattern and presence. After studying Letters and Philosophy in Bologna and completing a Master in Fine Arts in Birmingham, Polazzi’s work has been shown across Europe and beyond — from Paris to London, Madrid to Chicago — and reflects a deep inquiry into the nature of memory, imagination, and the human spirit.
Polazzi’s canvases are alive with colour and concept: they blend figurative elements with abstract forms in compositions that feel both intimate and universal. He approaches painting like a reflective diary — lyrical, inquisitive, and generous in its embrace of story and sensation.
Under Francesco’s gentle mentorship, you’ll explore painting as meditation, learning to let colour become language and gesture become philosophy — an artistic map of the inner terrain.
What You’ll Experience
Over five luminous days in Bagnoli del Trigno — a village celebrated for its panoramic beauty, cultural heritage, and serene valleys — you’ll inhabit an embodied creative rhythm rooted in connection and joy.
Daily Rhythms of Reflection & Art
Morning Meditation & Intention Sessions: Begin each day grounded, cultivating presence before brush touches canvas.
Guided Nature Walks: Wander the soft hills, valleys, and ancient paths that surround the village, letting the colours of Molise enter you.
Painting Workshops with Francesco: Explore shape, colour, and story in dialogue with your surroundings — nature as mentor.
Philosophical Conversations: Delve into the deeper questions of art and life in evening circles by firelight.
Open Studio Time: Paint, reflect, and let your voice emerge.
Community, Nourishment & Celebration
Shared Meals crafted with local seasonal produce — farm-to-table nourishment infused with friendship and laughter.
Community Evenings around long tables, storytelling under the stars, spontaneous song and celebration.
Materials Included — all art supplies provided, plus comfortable lodging where laughter and creative rest are part of the curriculum.
You’ll return home not just with artworks, but with a deepened sense of connection — to yourself, to others, and to the elemental spirit of place.
Why This Residency Matters
Set at the pinnacle of light — the solstice — this residency is more than a workshop. It is a ceremony of attention, a convergence of creative and contemplative practices designed to awaken openness, wonder, and joyful presence.
Whether you paint to touch something indefinable in your soul, seek community that pulses with possibility, or simply want an unforgettable creative summer journey — this solstice in Molise is a path into more spacious, vibrant living.
